Work Lights

Work Lights – Rechargeable, Portable, and Jobsite LED Work Lighting
Work lights are purpose-built portable lighting tools designed to illuminate jobsites, garages, engine bays, crawl spaces, and emergency scenes – anywhere overhead lighting falls short and a focused, glare-free flood of light is needed to get the job done. BrightGuy carries a full range of LED work lights, rechargeable work lights, magnetic work lights, COB inspection lights, tripod-mounted area lights, and intrinsically safe work lights from leading manufacturers including Streamlight, Pelican, NEBO, Maxxeon, Nightstick, and Fenix.
Types of Work Lights
The right work light depends on the task. Handheld work lights like the NEBO Big Larry, Streamlight Stinger Switchblade, and Pelican 9050 have various features like a flood-pattern, magnetic bases, and swivel features – ideal for mechanics, electricians, HVAC technicians, and anyone working in tight spaces. Inspection lights and penlights are pocket-sized tools for examining wiring, plumbing connections, or detail work.

Modern work lights have largely moved to rechargeable lithium-ion power, with USB-C charging now standard on most consumer and prosumer models. Rechargeable work lights eliminate the hassle of disposable batteries and extension cords while delivering longer runtimes than older NiMH and NiCad designs.

When choosing a work light, the specs that matter most are:
Lumen output – for general work, 500–1,500 lumens is sufficient; jobsite area lighting typically starts at 3,000 lumens and goes up.
Beam pattern – COB (chip-on-board) LEDs produce a wide, even flood ideal for close-up work, while reflector-based LEDs throw a tighter spot beam for distance. Many work lights combine both. Runtime — check runtime on the brightness setting you’ll actually use, not just the lowest mode.
Mounting options – magnetic bases, swivel hooks, clamps, tripod threads, and lanyard loops all expand where a light can be deployed. Durability ratings — look for an IP rating (IP65 or higher for water and dust resistance) and a drop rating (typically 1–2 meters). Power-bank functionality – many rechargeable work lights now double as USB power banks for phones and small electronics.

BrightGuy supplies work lighting to automotive technicians, electricians, plumbers, HVAC contractors, construction crews, industrial maintenance teams, fire and EMS departments, search and rescue, utilities, oil and gas operators, and home DIYers. Whether you need a single magnetic-base inspection light for a tool box or a fleet of rechargeable area lights for a fire department, our team can help match the right product to the application.
