Streamlight Sidewinder Stalk® Helmet Light – Five LEDs, One Low-Profile Light
The Streamlight Sidewinder Stalk is a hands-free military helmet light designed to replace multiple illuminators with a single, low-profile unit. Five LEDs – white, red, blue, green, and infrared (IR) – are housed in a head mounted on a flexible stalk, so you can bend the beam exactly where you need it and keep both hands on the task.
One light, every mission
Use white light for general illumination, red/blue/green to preserve night-adapted vision for map reading or cockpit work, and the IR LED for night vision device compatibility. A separate three-position switch runs the built-in IR/IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) beacon independently of the main light, so you can signal and illuminate at the same time.

What batteries does the Sidewinder Stalk use?
It’s multi-fuel: it runs on one CR123A lithium, one AA lithium, or one AA alkaline battery – all are non-rechargeable. A CR123A and an AA alkaline are both included. For maximum output (76 lumens) and best cold-weather performance, use the CR123A; lithium cells generally outperform alkaline in extreme temperatures.
Why does the light always turn on in low mode?
It’s intentional. Powering on in low protects your night-adapted vision and avoids broadcasting your position.
Is it waterproof?
Yes – it’s IP67 rated: dust-tight and waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes, with O-ring and gasket-sealed openings. It also meets MIL-STD-810H immersion guidelines.
